2018 LLTH Results and Race Recap

Preliminary results have been posted.   The direct link is currently at:

If you note any errors, send the corrections to Headfirst Performance.  Results will be posted on Ultrasignup once results are complete and Headfirst Performance has uploaded those results in the format required by Ultrasignup.

Temps would be a "balmy" 46 at the start, slowing dropping to 40 by late afternoon. There was a light breeze in the morning that picked up late in the day.  Light rain was falling at the start.  It was a misty, drizzly day with occasional periods of light rain.

Like last year, there were 400 or so entrants.  Unlike last year, there were many no-shows and also many runners that dropped down in distance.  The field was noticeably smaller in the start video:

6m:     Lee Tichenor          45:55          Donna Vakalis     46:55

The winning times were quite impressive this year considering the trail conditions!

Other notes:

If you finished the 15 miler & did not receive a medal, text Cynthia Heady at Headfirst Performance.  Her phone number is listed on their website.

An award is issued to runners when reaching 10 finishes at LLTH.  3 runners reached that milestone this year:  Peter Brondum, Steve Durbin & Donald Summerfield -- Congratulations!

If anyone has pictures they wish to share with others, post your link or send it/them to edibo@insightbb.com.   Thanks!

How will those of us that did not get medals today, from the 15 miler, get our medals since you ran out?

Anonymous,

I'm sorry you did not receive a medal for your finish. I have forwarded this matter to Headfirst Performance. When I hear back from them, I will post the response within the race recap for anyone affected. Thanks for letting me know about this.

Speaking of photos where can we find any photos taken. I believe I saw a photographer out on the course.

Delia,

Funny how I happened to run into you so many times out on the course from start to finish! Your "crash" was more like a little slip. Still trying to get the video off my phone. If I succeed, I can send you the link to download from Google Drive or post it on this blog if you don't mind others to see your slip. edibo@insightbb.com

Glenn,

Sorry for the delay. I don't get things accomplished very fast after tackling a race like that. I'm working on the recap today. I have a couple videos & a few pix. Larry Hilton was one of the photographers on the course & is going to send me his photos. Will upload them and post the link when I get them.

I'm good with it being posted! It made me laugh!!! And it was wild how we saw each other the whole time- especially bc at the start you said- I bet we see each other all day! How did you know?! Fun times!

Delia,

Thanks! I've inserted the video. Photographers can often distract runners enough to cause "crashes" -- glad it was just a slip in your case. Yes, it was a fun day!

I have ordered more medals. Sorry for those that did.not get one. I think so many dropped that the count changed. The 50k medals were different, so when someone changed races it changed the count. When I get them I will let you know.

Ed- will you email a copy of that video? It makes me laugh! Squickle@hotmail.com I am known to be a clutz. So it's funny! Thanks again!
